Pull Out Sofa
Why The Pull Out Sofa Will Never Die
The pull out sofa is continuing to rise in popularity as more and more of us are living in apartments and are short of space. Most of us who live in towns are not likely to have a guest room, and if we do, the chances are that in the current economic climate we will soon be looking for a lodger. But on always needs to be able to put friends up when they come to stay, so the pull out sofa will never be out of favour.
There was a time when the pull out sofa was a compromise all round; it was a substandard bed and a substandard sofa. Fortunately the world has moved on and this is no longer the case. There is now such a thing as a comfortable pull out sofa.
There are however several things to remember before you go out and part with your hard earned cash in exchange for a pull out sofa bed.
Firstly you need to decide on the size you want. A double seater sofa will usually pull out to a single bed and a triple seater sofa will become a double. The recent popularity of the L shaped sofa means that these are also available as a sleeper sofa and these tend to become a huge king sized bed.
The second thing to consider is the design of the pull out bed. There are basically two styles. Either the cheaper foam pull out sofa or a metal framed bed with a fabric or mesh mattress support held in place by springs.
Although the foam option is fine for occasional use it is not a particularly comfortable bed and since the bed forms most of sofa base it means that the sofa is not necessarily particularly comfortable either.
So if you are looking for an every day sofa which will become a reliable bed then you really need to look for a sturdy wooden framed sofa with a metal frame bed inside.
The pull out sofa is a great way to add a little comfort to a kid’s room as well. It creates a comfortable place for them to read and is convenient for when friends come
